The molecular DNA testing of a single cell is a complicated process; tests are custom-designed specifically for each individual family at Genesis Genetics Institute. There is a significant amount of preliminary work that is required prior to starting the IVF process. This scientific work varies depending on the disease, the family’s genetic mutations and the steps involved in customizing and optimizing the “molecular spell checkers.”

No matter how much work or cost is involved, fees are capped for each PGD cycle. We believe it is important to cap charges so that costs are fixed and predictable for each cycle.

Fees for the PGD testing and courier must be sent to Genesis Genetics Institute when the family formally enrolls in the PGD program (before IVF hormones are started). Once received, we will issue a receipt and begin the process of designing, constructing, testing and optimizing the specific “DNA probes” that will be needed. We cannot begin preparing the customized, molecular, single-cell test until this payment is received.

More information about the costs of PGD can also be found on our FAQ page.
